Octopus 101 / PeriTrend: Data import

Alternative

Data transmission from PeriTrend is possible with data import (as follows) or with a data send function.

Installation

The Octopus Perimeter 101 and the program PeriTrend store their data in a special format, the PVD format. PeriData is able to open these files directly and to copy them into a PeriData database. Installation consists of one single step:

1. Install PeriData on the same PC where the Octopus 101 or the PeriTrend program is installed.

Note: Transmission via cable is not possible.

Import: Step by step

1. Open a PeriData database. manually (see also File open or File New)

2. Open a PeriTrend database as 2nd database: Menu: Database / Item: Open / Type: PeriTrend File (*.pvd) / <search file and open> - a 2nd database window opens with a green background as indicator for external data format..

Note: If the PVD file has been opened previously, it can be found in the list of recent files of the file menu for easy re-opening.

3. Mark the examinations in the PVD file examination list – the newest examinations are at the end of the examination list. Move there with CTRL + PgDn

4. Copy the examinations with Ctrl + C or button "Copy"

5. Activate the examination list of the PeriData file

6. Paste the examinations with Ctrl + V or button "Paste"

Handling of old data

Old data can be copied easily by marking all examinations in the PVD file examination list (key combination CTRL + A) and copy them into the PHF file.

Note: In the Link Mode for a medical record software, a patient-independent file OLDDATA.phf has to be created. See also Handling of old data

Note: The number of data that can be stored to the clipboard is limited. Check whether all data was copied.

Handling of the PeriTrend (PVD) files

When using PeriData, it is recommended to create a new PeriTrend (PVD) file every month. Call them by the month, meaning 2000_01.pvd 2000_02.pvd etc. This avoids also problems with the PVD file with more than 1000 examinations. Make a backup copy of these files.
