Search in the Database

Shortcut: CTRL + F (in the database window)

Menu: Functions > Search

Context menu (RIGHT mouse button): Search

Button: "Search" in the Database Window

Type the search text into the field. Start with the ENTER key or the button FIND.

FIND searches for the first match and closes the window. If there is no match, the window stays open, and the search text can be changed.

FIND NEXT searches for the next match behind the current cursor position (red bar). At the end of the database the search jumps back to the begin. The window stays open.

The KEY F3 starts "Find next" if the window is already closed.

Search text

The search text depends on the current sort key of the database:

Name: Capitals are ignored. Special characters and spaces are ignored. The search will start at the beginning of the name. First names cannot be searched separately.
Example: "FO,AL" does not find "FORD,ALBERT", "FORDAL" finds "FORD,ALBERT".

Birthday / Test Date: The date has to be given completely (day, month, year). Points and other special characters are ignored. Example: "24051999" finds "24-05-1999"

Instrument: The current order is examination type (device + examination program). Type the instrument type in the abbreviation used by PeriData (e.g. Octo600).
